Airlines that fly from Bristol to Stockholm
No airlines currently offer direct flights between Bristol and Stockholm. You can fly indirect with Brussels Airlines via Brussels, KLM via Amsterdam, or Lufthansa via Frankfurt. Alternatively, you could consider flights from London to Stockholm instead.
Terminal Information – Departing
Bristol Airport has just one terminal. The departure lounge has a small but useful range of shops. These include airport favourites like Boots, Dixons Travel and World Duty Free. There's also a Superdrug and a JD Sports. If you're peckish you can grab a quick bite to eat in Burger King or Starbucks, or settle in for a relaxing meal at Dexters or The Cabin. Bristol Airport has two executive lounges which are available to all travellers for a fee. Both lounges are operated by Aspire. The regular lounge charges £19.99* for access, while the Plus lounge offers more amenities and charges £29.99*. Note that the Plus lounge access is only available to adults.
Terminal Information – Arriving
At Stockholm-Arlanda: flights via Frankfurt and Amsterdam land at Arlanda Airport. Flights from Frankfurt land at terminal 5, while flights from Amsterdam land at terminal 2. Both terminals are well served by public transport. You can take the Arlanda Express train from underneath the airport's Sky City section. This is the fastest way to reach the city centre, with a journey time of 20 minutes. Single tickets cost SEK 289* (less than £25). Local trains also call at the airport: they're cheaper but take longer to reach town. Another option is the Air Shuttle bus, which takes about 35 minutes. Flygbussarna and Swebus coaches also serve the airport. Car hire from Stockholm Arlanda Airport is also available.
At Stockholm-Bromma: flights via Brussels land at Bromma Airport. The airport is served by coaches and local buses. Note that you can only buy coach tickets with your credit card (even on board) and local bus tickets must be bought in advance via SMS. Taxis and rental cars are also available from Bromma airport.
Practical Information
You need a valid passport to fly to Stockholm from Bristol. It's best to arrive 90 minutes before departure for international flights.
What to expect in Stockholm
Stockholm is one hour ahead of Bristol and the currency is the Swedish Krona. Budget travellers, beware: Stockholm is one of Europe's priciest destinations.
