Bournemouth Airport

Bournemouth Airport has just one terminal, you should arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight with check-in at the airport, online or via mobile available.

When travelling through security checks, passengers have the opportunity to purchase a Fast Track pass. A pass allows you to bypass longer queues through security and arrive in the departures lounge with plenty of time to enjoy all of the facilities on offer. You can buy passes in advance or on the day but it’s generally cheaper to book your pass online.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal building. You can get up to 60 minutes free of charge, if you need to access the internet for longer than 60 minutes you can pay for additional Wi-Fi at a rate of £5.00 per hour or £10.00 per day.

In the departures lounge you’ll find a small selection of shopping and food outlets. There’s WHSmith and a duty free store for travel essentials and luxury items, and you can get a bite to eat at Estpresso, Joe’s Coffee House or The Olive Tree Café Bar.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is located nine kilometres southwest of Amsterdam city centre. The airport has just one terminal, divided into four separate sections which lead into the same arrivals hall. In the arrivals hall you’ll find cash machines, bars, cafés, shops and internet stations where you can get online.

Car hire desks are also located in the arrivals hall and can be found behind Arrivals Area 3. Companies based at the airport include Avis, Europcar, National, Budget, Hertz and Enterprise.

If you choose to take public transport from the airport into Amsterdam city centre, you have both buses and trains to choose from. Local and shuttle buses depart from outside the terminal. The 197 Airport Express shuttle bus provides the most direct route into the city centre and is an easy option for tourists unfamiliar with the city. The shuttle departs every 15 minutes from Platform B9 and stops at a number of popular central Amsterdam locations.

Trains depart from Level -1. You can get to Amsterdam Centraal in just 15 minutes on trains that depart regularly throughout the day. Tickets are available from yellow self-service machines located in the station.

What to Expect in Amsterdam

Amsterdam enjoys mild weather all year round but does experience a lot of rain too. Summer temperatures can reach up to 20°c and, during winter time, rarely drop below freezing.
