Athens Airport

Athens Airport is home to just one terminal. In the departure lounge, passengers can also take advantage of currency exchange desks, a children’s play area and a hair salon. There’s a good selection of food, drink and shopping outlets too. You can get a quick bite to eat at McDonald’s, enjoy a drink a Kir-Yianni Wine Bar or find a range of international cuisine at the Food Court. And for all your retail needs, there are convenience stores, a duty free store and designer brand shops too.

London Heathrow Airport

London Heathrow Airport is located 15 miles west of London city centre. There are four terminals at the airport with Aegean Airlines flights from Athens arriving to Terminal 2 and British Airways flights arriving to Terminal 5.

Onward travel options include taxis, which are available from a rank outside each terminal, buses and trains. The quickest way to get from Heathrow to London city centre is via the Heathrow Express train. Trains take just 15 minutes to travel from the airport to London Paddington rail station, with regular services throughout the day. The London Underground is the one of the cheapest ways to reach London though it will take around 50 minutes.

London Gatwick Airport

London Gatwick Airport is located 30 miles south of central London. There are two terminals at the airport with EasyJet flights from Athens arriving to the South Terminal. In the arrivals hall you’ll find cash machines and a currency exchange alongside a variety of shops and cafés. Car hire offices are also based in the arrivals hall and you can choose from companies including Hertz, Europcar, National, Avis and Sixt.

Buses, trains and taxis are all available from the airport. The Gatwick Express train offers the quickest route into London city centre. The train departs every 15 minutes and reaches London Victoria station in 30 minutes. Slower, non-direct services which stop at stations throughout West London are also available.

London Stansted Airport

Stansted Airport is located 30 miles northeast of central London. There is just one terminal at the airport. In the arrivals hall there are cash machines and car hire desks. National, Sixt, Alamo, Hertz, Enterprise, Budget, Avis and Europcar all have offices at the airport.

Onward travel options from Stansted include National Express and Terravision coaches, which have routes into London city centre, and the Stansted Express train, which departs every 15 minutes and takes around 50 minutes to reach London Liverpool Street rail station.

What to Expect in London
