There are a number of airlines offering direct flights from Prague to London. Ryanair offers direct flights from Prague to London Stansted. Easyjet fly from Prague to London Stansted and London Gatwick. British Airways fly from Prague to London Heathrow, whilst Czech Airlines fly from Prague to London Gatwick.

Terminal Information

Prague Airport

Prague Airport, also known as Vaclav Havel Airport is located 20km north-west of the city centre and has three terminals. All airlines operating flights to London depart from Terminal 1.

Passengers travelling on flights from Prague to London should arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the flight departure time.  Ryanair and Easyjet passengers must check in online up to two hours before their flight.  Terminal 1 has self-service check in kiosks for passengers to use, or you can head to the standard check in counter. Those who have checked in online and have hold baggage to check in can head for the bag drop counter near standard check in.

Terminal 1 is home to a range of shops and restaurants. Shops here include Aelia Duty Free, Blue Praha (for gifts and Czech glass), Emporio Armani, Burberry and Mercury Jewellery Boutique. There are plenty of options for fast food and snacks including McDonalds, Subway, Bodega Tapas Bar, La Tazza and McDonalds, as well as restaurants for a sit-down meal such as The Globe.

Unlimited free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport for passenger use.

The MasterCard Lounge in Terminal 1 is the ideal place to relax pre-flight, with a self-service bar and complementary unlimited refreshments, Wi-Fi, daily papers, TV and children's area.

London Heathrow Airport

London Heathrow Airport is located 14 miles west of central London. There are four terminals, British Airways flights from Prague arrive into Terminal 3.

The fastest way to reach central London is by Heathrow Express. This is a direct train departing every 15 minutes from the Terminal 2 & 3 station, a short walk from Terminal 3 – the journey to London Paddington takes just 15 minutes. A single fare costs £27, you can book online or buy tickets on the train. Heathrow Connect trains also run to Paddington via stations in West London, leaving every 30 minutes and taking around 30 minutes.

The underground is the cheapest way to reach central London with a station between Terminal 2 and 3. A single ticket costs £5.70 and the journey time is under one hour.

There are a number of car rental operators at the airport including Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Enterprise, National, Budget, Alamo and Sixt.

London Gatwick Airport

London Gatwick Airport lies 30 miles south of London, it has two terminals the North and the South. Easyjet and Czech Airlines flights from Prague arrive into the South Terminal.

The quickest way to travel from Gatwick to Central London is to take the Gatwick Express to London Victoria, departing every 15 minutes taking around 30 minutes. Southern trains also run to Victoria via several London stations and the journey takes 35 minutes.

You can take the easyBus to London Victoria Coach Station – costs from £2 a ticket one-way and can be pre-booked online, or a National Express coach to Victoria. This journey can take up to 2 hours, depending on traffic.

Car hire is available from Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Sixt, National, Alamo, Enterprise and Budget.

London Stansted Airport

London Stansted Airport is 30 miles north-east of central London, the airport has just one terminal.

You can reach central London by Stansted Express trains or National Express coaches. The Stansted Express train runs every 15 minutes and costs from £8 for a one-way ticket to Liverpool Street. National Express coaches run 24 hours a day and cost from £5 for a one-way ticket, stopping at 15 points across central London.

If you wish to travel by car there is the Stansted Airport Taxis reservation desk located in the Arrivals Hall. A taxi to central London for up to 4 people costs around £100. The Car Rental Village at the airport can be reached by taking the free shuttle service, car rental brands based here include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Firefly, Hertz, Inter rent, National and Sixt.

What to expect in London
