Terminal Information
Norwich Airport
Norwich Airport is located 3.2 miles north of Norwich city centre. The airport has just one terminal with both departures and arrivals located on the same ground floor. In the check-in area there are a few shops and a currency exchange.
In the departures lounge there is a selection of shops and food outlets. Café Oasis serves food throughout the day including sandwiches, pastries, cakes, full breakfasts and cooked meals. There’s also a Costa Coffee for a coffee and a sandwich and The Yard of Ale bar for wines, beers and spirits.
And if you need to pick up a few essentials before boarding your flight, there’s a WHSmith before security and a Skylines shop in the departures lounge, both selling books, newspapers and confectionary. In the departures lounge you’ll also find Eclipse Duty Free selling a range of perfume, spirits, sunglasses and watches. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the airport and internet desks in the departures lounge too.
Norwich Airport also boasts an Executive Lounge open to business passengers. It provides complimentary drinks, snacks and newspapers as well as a personal shopper service, from 5am to 8pm every day.
Aberdeen Airport
Aberdeen Airport is 5.8 miles northwest of Aberdeen city centre. The small airport has just one terminal with both check-in and arrivals located on the ground floor. In the arrivals hall, there are various cafés and convenience stores. There’s a Costa Coffee, a Wetherspoons pub and The Kitchen, which serves sandwiches and hot snacks. And for little essentials, there’s a WHSmith, a Tie Rack and Rolling Luggage.
There are a number of car hire companies based at Aberdeen Airport. National, Europcar, Avis, Hertz and Enterprise all have offices located in the Car Hire Building, which is accessed by turning left out of the main terminal and taking a short walk under a covered walkway.
If you’re planning to take public transport from the airport into the city centre, you’ll find buses outside the terminal building. It takes about 30 minutes to travel into Aberdeen and there are various routes to choose from depending on your final destination. Buses run regularly on weekdays but in the evening and at weekends, the service is reduced.
Dyce rail station is another option. It’s located two miles from the airport and easily reached by taxi. You can then take a train into the city centre, which only takes 10 minutes.
Practical Information
When flying on domestic flights within the UK, you don’t need to carry your passport. However, you will need some other form of photographic identification instead. Each airline specifies the types of identification they are willing to accept so check with your airline before travelling.
What to Expect in Aberdeen
