Terminal Information – Departing

Newcastle Airport only has one terminal. The departure lounge has a good range of shops, restaurants, and places to relax before your gate is called. There's an Aerospa if you need a pre-flight treat, and a Namco Games arcade if you want to blow off a bit of steam. Dining options range from quick and easy (Burger King, M&S Simply Food, Greggs) to relaxed (Flying Hippo, Cabin). Shops at the airport include WH Smith, World Duty Free and Boots. There are two bars in the airport, Bar 11 and the Beer House. There's also an Aspire Lounge where you can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and refreshments. Entry prices to the VIP lounge are lower if you book in advance.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Newquay Airport is just five miles from the town centre. First Bus service #56 calls at the airport once an hour, so if you just miss it you could be in for a long wait. There's no taxi rank at Newquay Airport, but you can book a taxi on arrival from the desk inside the terminal. Practical Information

You don't need a passport to fly on domestic routes within the UK. You can use most forms of official photographic identification, including your driving license. Give yourself a bit of extra time to get through security, as airports tend to get very busy during the school holidays.

What to expect in Newquay

Newquay is famous for its beautiful beaches. You might not get the temperatures of the Algarve, but the weather is still fairly pleasant. You can expect an average temperature of 16°C during July and August, perfect for catching a slight tan. Newquay is popular with surfers and is a great place to learn how to hang ten. It's also a popular destination for hen and stag parties: if you're coming from Newcastle you'll know all about that. Winters in Newquay are fairly mild, with temperatures around 5-6°C.
