Airlines that fly from Manchester to Birmingham
No airlines currently offer direct flights from Manchester to Birmingham. If you're happy to fly indirect you can go via the Isle of Man with Flybe or via Dublin with Aer Lingus. It's also possible to fly via a number of European cities. Eurowings fly to Birmingham via Dusseldorf, Brussels Airlines via Brussels, KLM via Amsterdam, Air France via Paris and Swiss via Zurich.
Terminal Information – Departing

Aer Lingus, Brussels Airlines, Swiss and Eurowings depart from Terminal 1. Flybe, Air France and KLM flights usually depart from Terminal 3. Both terminals have a great range of shops and restaurants as well as an executive lounge. Terminal 1 has slightly more variety, including Mediterranean restaurant Cafe Balzar, trendy cocktail bar Bar MCR and trendy shops like Fat Face. Terminal 3 is perfectly functional too: there's a sandwich bar, Italian restaurant and two coffee shops.
Terminal Information – Arriving
If you're tired or hungry upon your arrival at Birmingham Airport you can grab a coffee at Costa and something to eat at M&S Simply Food. There's also a WHSmith if you need to get caught up on the day's news. There are also some car hire desks in the arrival area, convenient if you're planning to hire a car at Birmingham Airport. Public transport is widely available, with five local routes running between the airport and the city centre. National Express and Megabus coaches also serve the airport: we recommend booking your tickets in advance. If you would rather take the train you can hop on the free shuttle to Birmingham International Train Station. Tickets to New Street Station cost about £3*. There's also a taxi rank at the airport. Cabs are metered but you can expect to pay £25* for the drive into town.
Practical Information
We recommend giving yourself plenty of time at the airport, arriving no later than 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart. If you're flying to Birmingham via Dublin or the Isle of Man you won't need your passport as both destinations are within the Common Travel Area. You will need to bring an approved form of photographic ID such as your driving license: if in doubt, check the airline website. If you're flying via continental Europe you will need to bring a valid passport as you'll be passing through the Schengen zone.
