Airlines that fly from Luton to Dublin

Ryanair are the only airline currently offering flights on this route. It's in the top five of Luton's international routes, however, so be sure and book your ticket early.

Terminal Information – Departing

Luton Airport has one terminal. Free Wi-Fi is available, and there are public printing services before you go through security: perfect if you forgot to print your boarding pass at home. There's an Aspire Lounge at Luton Airport if you feel like treating yourself to a bit of added luxury. Inside you'll find plenty of comfy seats, as well as a selection of complimentary snacks and drinks.

The departure lounge has a great range of shops. Although tax free shopping isn't available on flights to Ireland you can still enjoy a good browse around Aelia Duty Free and a range of high street shops. Designer brands like MAC, Kurt Geiger and Victoria's Secret all have shops in the airport. Pick up a tasty treat at Hotel Chocolat or pamper yourself with a manicure at Cloud Nails.

There are also plenty of places to grab a bite to eat, whatever your appetite. Sit down for a proper meal at Bar 10 or Frankie & Benny's, or just enjoy a quick coffee and bite at Krispy Kreme, Starbucks or Pret A Manger.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Ryanair flights land at Dublin Airport's Terminal 1. There's a taxi rank immediately outside the arrivals area. The bus stops are a short walk away, between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The quickest bus to the city centre is the Aircoach 700, which charges €9* (about £6.50) for a single and €15* (about £11) for a return ticket. Dublin Bus 747 is cheaper, but slower. Tickets cost €6 (about £4.35) for a single and €10 (about £7.25) for a return. Driving is also an option (remember to compare car hire at Dublin Airport) with a number of car rental desks situated in the Terminal 1 arrivals hall.

Practical Information

Although you usually don't need a passport to travel from Ireland to the UK (the two form a Common Travel Area) you will need to bring your passport if you're flying with Ryanair. This is the only form of ID the airline currently accept, so make sure you don't forget to bring it.

What to expect in Dublin

Dublin is in the same time zone as the UK and the currency is the Euro (€). Dublin is generally colder and wetter than London, so bring some cosy clothes and pack your umbrella. Prices in Dublin are lower than in London, although they may initially look higher as they're written in Euro.
