Terminal Information – Departing

Flights to Guernsey generally depart from Gatwick Airport's South Terminal. The departure lounge was expanded in 2009, and has a huge range of shops and places to grab a refreshment. Places to eat include grab 'n' go sandwich shops like Apostrophe, popular restaurants like Nandos, and pubs like Wetherspoons. There's even a seafood bar, if you feel like splashing out. There are 28 shops at Gatwick Airport, and you can indulge in tax free shopping as Guernsey is not an EU member. Pick up some luxury goodies at the massive World Duty Free, treat yourself to some new togs in the high street and designer fashion stores, or pick up some new techie bits and bobs at Dixons Travel. If you want to escape the general hustle and bustle you can check into the No.1 Gatwick lounge. The lounge has unlimited Wi-Fi, complimentary refreshments, and a more peaceful atmosphere. Book online in advance to save £5* on the door price. If you have a bit of work to do before flying to Guernsey you can hire a Regus Express Work Pod. They're soundproof and private, with a secure Wi-Fi connection (£10* for half an hour).
Terminal Information – Arriving
Guernsey Airport has one terminal, so it's easy to find your way out and onto onward transport. Buses connect the airport to the island's major towns for a flat fare of £1*. Private hire cabs also operate from the airport. We recommend booking your cab in advance to avoid disappointment. If you forget to, you can call one on arrival. If you're rather hire a car at Guernsey airport you'll find Avis and Europcar desk in the arrivals area. Again, it's best to book in advance.
Practical Information
Guernsey is a member of the Common Travel Area. You don't need your passport to fly from London to Guernsey, but you will need some approved photographic ID (such as a photographic driving license, company ID card, or NUS card) for security. What to expect in Guernsey
Although Guernsey isn't a full member of the UK, the Pound Sterling (£) is the official currency. Prices in Guernsey are similar to what you would expect in London, due to import costs. You won't have any trouble getting around the island, whether it's by foot, car, bicycle, public transport or on foot. The island is only twelve miles long by five miles wide, and you can usually hail buses between bus stops (unless you're in a town).
