Leeds Bradford Airport

Passengers should allow plenty of time and aim to arrive at the airport at least one hour before their flight to Glasgow is scheduled to depart. There is just one terminal at Leeds Bradford Airport. Head for the ground floor of the terminal building and you'll find the check-in desks located in Check in Halls A & B. Those checking in online must print their own boarding passes – there is a bag drop facility in the check-in hall if you have baggage for the hold.

Relax before your flight in The Yorkshire Premier Lounge – you can book online for an all-inclusive experience. Passengers benefit from a complimentary bar with soft drinks, wine, beer and spirits, tea and coffee, hot and cold snacks and entertainment options including plasma TVs, superfast free Wi-Fi and daily papers and magazines.

Glasgow Airport

Glasgow Airport is 6 miles West of the city centre. The airport has one terminal; domestic arrivals is located on the first floor.  There are a number of shops and cafes in the arrivals hall.

The easiest way to reach the city centre is by bus or taxi. The Glasgow Shuttle leaves every 10 minutes (24 hours a day) from outside the main terminal. The bus travels to the city centre, Buchanan Street bus station, and Glasgow Central and Queen Street train stations. A single adult fare is £7, return tickets are £9.50. The journey takes around 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Buses have free Wi-Fi on board.

You can also take a Glasgow Airport taxi from outside the main terminal. There are a number of car hire companies at Glasgow Airport including Alamo, National, Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Enterprise, Budget and Dollar. Car hire offices are located near domestic arrivals, opposite the terminal building.

Practical Information

British citizens will not need a passport to travel on domestic flights within the UK, you will still need to provide an accepted form of photographic ID such as a driving licence.

What to expect in Glasgow

Glasgow is Scotland's largest city and is a hub for commerce, culture and tourism. The majority of sights are in the city centre with Argyle Street, Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street being the main shopping areas.

The best month to visit Glasgow is July, when the weather is at its warmest and temperatures average 18-20ºC. The city sees the most rain in September and November.

It's easy to find affordable eateries in the city whether you're looking for traditional Scottish food, fantastic veggie fare or just some fish and chips. You will find the cost of eating out to be roughly similar to what you would normally pay in Leeds.
