Terminal Information

Hong Kong International Airport

Hong Kong International Airport on Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong has two terminals and all airlines operating flights from Hong Kong to London depart from Terminal 1.  You should arrive at the airport around 3 hours before your flight, check in options for most airlines include check-in desks at the airport, online check-in with printable boarding passes or mobile check-in which will store your boarding pass on your phone. Online check in is recommended to avoid the queues at the airport, and you simply need to drop off your bags at the bag drop desks then proceed to security.

The Terminal 1 departures lounge has a great selection of shops and places to eat to enjoy before your flight to London departs. Fashion brands to choose from include Boss, Prada, Pandora, Jimmy Choo and Chanel, alongside a number of electrical, duty free, stationary and convenience stores. Places to eat range from Chinese and Asian restaurants to fast food and Western restaurants. Entertainment options include simulation 9 and 18-hole golf course, an IMAX cinema and an aviation discovery centre.

London Heathrow

London Heathrow Airport has four terminals, Turkish Airlines and Air China flights arrive into Terminal 2, Virgin Atlantic and Cathay Pacific flights from Hong Kong arrive into Terminal 3, China Eastern and Aeroflot flights arrive into Terminal 4 and British Airways flights arrive into Terminal 5.

To reach Central London from London Heathrow you can use taxis, car hire, the Underground, trains or buses. The Heathrow Express train is the quickest way to reach London, travelling into London Paddington in just 15 minutes, with services departing every 15 minutes. Stations are located at Terminal 2, 3 and 5, transfer trains run from Terminal 4 to the Terminal 2 & 3 station. A single ticket is £26.50.

London Underground services from London Heathrow run to Piccadilly Circus from each terminal at most, every 10 minutes with a journey time around 45 minutes. A single ticket to Zone 1 stations is £5.70, alternatively you can purchase one-day travel cards from the ticket desks at the station for £17.

London Gatwick Airport

Emirates flights from Hong Kong to London Gatwick Airport arrive into the North Terminal. The terminal is connected to the South terminal by a quick shuttle train which departs every few minutes.

There are buses, trains, car hire and taxis available from Gatwick Airport. The airport’s train station is in the South Terminal; the Gatwick Express train service departs from here every 15 minutes. The train goes direct to London Victoria station and takes 30 minutes.
