You should arrive at Exeter Airport at least one hour before your flight to Edinburgh is scheduled to depart. Flybe have staffed and self-service check in desks in the check in lounge which open 2 hours before departure as well as offering online and automatic mobile check in in advance. If you have hold luggage and have checked in before arriving at the airport you can take your bags to the bag drop desks to check in.
Exeter Airport is a small airport with one terminal and a small selection of shops and places to eat. World Duty Free and WHSmith are the only two shops located in the departures lounge, there is also one restaurant, bar and café for hot meals, snacks and coffee throughout the day.
An executive lounge is available if you wish to upgrade for £17.50 per person. Here you will enjoy views of the runway, complimentary hot drinks, up to two complimentary alcoholic drinks and free Wi-Fi.
Edinburgh Airport
Edinburgh Airport is located 8 miles to the west of the city centre of Edinburgh and conveniently located for surrounding destinations in Scotland such as West Lothian, Stirlingshire and Glasgow.
There are a number of onward travel options from Edinburgh Airport including a taxi from outside of the arrivals terminal, bus, tram and car hire. Car hire desks are located in a dedicated car hire centre which is reached via a covered walkway, there are a number of car hire companies available here including Thrifty and Avis. The Airlink 100 bus runs to Edinburgh with stops at Murrayfield, Haymarket, Princes Street and Waverley Bridge, a single ticket costs £4.50. Trams run regularly from Edinburgh Airport to the city centre with an average journey time of 25 minutes, a single ticket costs £5.
Practical Information
When travelling on domestic flights within the UK you will need to provide a valid form of photographic identification. Acceptable forms include a passport, an expired passport which was valid within the last year or a driving licence. Other forms of ID are acceptable although it is advised you confirm this with Flybe before your flight. Children under 16 are not required to show any ID.
