Terminal Information
Edinburgh Airport
You will need to arrive at Edinburgh Airport at least 2 hours before your flight to Prague is scheduled to depart. When flying with Easyjet you will need to check in online, or via the Easyjet mobile app prior to arriving at the airport. Self-service bag drop desks are available in the check in hall if you have hold luggage that needs to be checked in, this closes strictly 40 minutes before your flight departure time.
There are a small number of shops and cafes before security but the real shopping and dining experience begins in the departures lounge. Boots, WH Smith, World Duty Free, Superdrug Wellbeing, The Collection, Kurt Geiger and Jo Malone are just some of the shops which you will find here. The places to eat are located at each end of the departures lounge. Between gates 5 and 7 there is Costa, Eat, Yo! Sushi, Fringe and Thermidors Seafood Bar. Between gates 11 and 13 there is The Gathering Restaurant and Deli, Wetherspoon and Costa. There is Wi-Fi access available throughout the terminal, the first two hours of which are free.
Edinburgh Airport has two executive lounges, Aspire and the No. 1 Traveller Lounge. You can book into the lounges online and the fee includes a selection of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks, snacks and unlimited Wi-Fi in a quiet environment.
Prague Airport
Vaclav Havel Airport Prague is 10km away from Prague and has two terminals, easyJet flights arrive into Terminal 1. The arrivals hall has a selection of facilities available such as taxi and public transport ticket desks, currency exchange desks, shops and places to eat.
Onward travel options from Prague Airport to Prague are car hire, buses and taxis. The Airport Express Bus services runs every 30 minutes from the municipal transit area outside of the terminal. Tickets must be purchased from the airport and cannot be purchased on the bus.
Car hire from Prague Airport will give you the opportunity to explore Prague and the surrounding region of Bohemia. The car hire desks are located on the ground floor of Car Park C.
What to expect in Prague
Although the Czech Republic is part of the EU, the currency is the Czech Koruna. Prague is known for offering cheap city breaks and you will not be disappointed with costs such as eating out, drinks and transport all around to 60% less than Edinburgh. A 3 course meal for two will cost around £16, fast food such as large hot dogs from street food carts will be less than £1and half a litre of beer will be less than £1.50.
