Terminal Information – Departing
Edinburgh Airport has one terminal. The departure lounge is compact but has a good range of shops. Expect high street favourites like Accessorize and Boots, premium brands like Kurt Geiger and MAC Cosmetics, and airport favourites World Duty Free and Dixon's Travel. There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat before your flight. Enjoy a coffee and a croissant at The Gathering, pick up a sandwich at EAT, or indulge in champagne and seafood at Thermidors. There's also an art gallery, a spa, and a supercar competition. If none of that attracts you, you can settle in with your smartphone: every passenger can enjoy two hours of free Wi-Fi. If you need to get a bit of last-minute work done (or if you just enjoy luxury) you can check into the Aspire or No.1 Traveller Lounge. Both have unlimited internet and a range of complimentary snacks and drinks.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Luton Airport has one terminal which is well served by public transport. The fastest way into town is the express train from Luton Parkway Station. There's a shuttle bus between the airport and the station (tickets are £1.50*). The train takes 20-55 minutes to reach St Pancras Station in the city centre, and tickets cost £13.50* each way. Book train tickets in advance.National Express, Green Line and easyBus coaches all run between the airport and Victoria Station. We recommend booking your tickets in advance. Practical Information
You don't need a passport to fly to London from Edinburgh, just an approved form of ID. This varies from airline to airline. easyJet accept driving licenses, EU/Swiss national identity cards, armed forces identity cards, police warrant cards/badges, airport employee security identity passes, CitizenCards, photographic firearm certificates, government issued identity cards, SMART cards, electoral identity cards, and passports that have expired up to five years ago. Pension books are also accepted, even although they are non-photographic.
What to expect in London
London is slightly more expensive than Edinburgh. Expect to pay about £10* more for dinner and about 50p* more for a pint. The weather in London is slightly warmer with an average temperature of 19°C in July (compared to 15°C in Edinburgh) and 7°C in January (in Edinburgh it's 3°C).
