Terminal Information – Departing
This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.
Edinburgh Airport has one terminal, with check-in desks on the ground floor and the departure hall upstairs. Shops at Edinburgh Airport include the usual suspects, such as Dixons Travel and World Duty Free: as Gran Canaria is outwith the EU you can enjoy a tax free discount. Other shops include MAC Cosmetics, Superdrug, Boots and Liquorice Tree. There's also a small spa for pre-holiday treatments and an art gallery. Hungry travellers can grab a bite at places including EAT, Yo Sushi and Wetherspoons. Two hours of free Wi-Fi are available for every passenger, and there are computer terminals for those who have left their laptops and smartphones at home. Aspire and No.1 Traveller operate pay-in lounges at the airport for all passengers on all airlines. Book in advance through Edinburgh Airport's website to get a discount.
Terminal Information – Arriving
There are lots of ways to travel to and from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport. There are eight public buses, which run between the airport and the island's main towns. The routes include Las Palmas, Maspalomas and Puerto de Mogan. The bus timetables are online, and we recommend planning your route before arriving. Car hire from Gran Canaria Airport is another popular option, especially if you're staying somewhere a little off the beaten track or want to do a lot of exploring. Private transfers should be organised in advance: some hotels offer this service for an added fee. Others include it in the price of your booking.
Practical Information
You need a valid passport to fly to Gran Canaria from Edinburgh. It's best to arrive at the airport no later than 90 minutes before your flight's departure time: earlier if possible, especially if you're travelling during the summer holidays.
