Terminal Information – Departing
Edinburgh Airport has one terminal. The check-in and bag-drop desks are on the ground floor of the building, while security and the departure lounge are upstairs. The departure lounge is small but has a good range of luxury shops and places to eat. Designer shops like Kurt Geiger, Jo Malone, MAC Cosmetics and World Duty Free offer plenty of temptation: especially since the Canary Islands aren't part of the EU so you can enjoy a duty free discount. Pick up some pool-side reading at WHSmith and stock up on sunscreen in Boots. Peckish travellers will find plenty of great options, too. Choose between pub grub, quick sandwiches, and swanky seafood. Every passenger gets two hours of free Wi-Fi at Edinburgh Airport. The airport has two executive lounges, No.1 Traveller and Aspire: perfect if you want to treat yourself to a bit of extra luxury. Alternatively you can enjoy a quick treatment at the airport spa.

If you prefer to take public transport, you'll find the bus stops outside the arrivals hall. Some services only operate from Monday to Friday and not at all on public holidays, so check the schedule carefully before you leave. Bus 22 runs between the airport and the island's capital, Arrecife. The bus journey takes ten minutes and tickets cost €1.40* (about £1). On Sundays and public holidays the route is served by bus 23, which also goes to Playa Honda. Routes 261 and 161 go to Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen.
