Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Lufthansa flights depart from terminal 1 while Aer Lingus flights leave from terminal 2. Both terminals at Dublin Airport have their own shopping and dining areas, both called The Loop. Here you'll find plenty of big brands such as Jo Malone and MAC Cosmetics alongside shops selling essentials such as souvenirs, magazines and duty free. Both terminals have an international range of places to eat and drink. Notably terminal 2 has a champagne bar, Flutes, for a pre-flight toast. In Terminal 1 you'll find The Garden Terrace restaurant which has a bit of outdoor space: perfect for warm days. Both terminals have an executive lounge. In terminal 1 it's on The Street, near the security check areas, while terminal 2's lounge is near gate 400. Access costs €19.95* and anyone (including economy passengers) can use the facilities.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Aer Lingus flights usually land at terminal 1 while Lufthansa land at terminal 2. The terminals are connected to each other by the massive MAC Centre shopping mall. The easiest way to reach the city centre is by S-bahn (suburban train). Lines S1 and S8 both go to Munich Central Station. Another option is the Lufthansa Airport Shuttle bus. Tickets on the S-bahn and bus are similarly priced. Taxis from the airport are quite expensive, so it's best to take public transport. Or, if you want to experience driving on the Autobahn for yourself, book car hire at Munich Airport.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to travel between Ireland and Germany. Try to arrive no later than 90 minutes before departure.
