Aer Lingus Regional and Flybe both offer direct flights from Dublin to Cardiff.
Terminal Information – Departing
This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.
Flybe depart from terminal 1, while Aer Lingus Regional flights leave from terminal 2. Both terminals have a huge range of shops and eateries in their departure lounges, which are both known as The Loop. Click and Collect is available from Dublin Airport's website: so if you don't have enough time to browse the goodies before boarding your flight, you can order in advance and grab it before you fly. There are plenty of places to eat and drink at the airport, whether you're in the mood for a luxurious hot chocolate from Butlers or a glass of bubbly from Flutes champagne bar. If you want to escape the bustle, there are executive lounges in both terminals: entry costs €19.95* (just over £15.50). Both lounges are open to every passenger, regardless of airline or booking class.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Cardiff Airport only has one terminal. The airport has excellent public transport links to the city centre. The T9 Cardiff Airport Express Bus offers the fastest way to reach downtown Cardiff or Cardiff Bay. One-way tickets cost £5* and return tickets cost £8*. You can also travel by train, using the 905 shuttle to reach the Rhoose Rail Interchange. Tickets on the shuttle cost £1*. From the interchange you can catch a train into the city: we recommend booking your ticket in advance to get the best price. If public transport isn't your style, you can hail a cab from the taxi rank immediately outside the arrivals hall. Car hire at Cardiff Airport is also available from providers including Alamo, National, Hertz, Enterprise and Europcar.
Practical Information
We recommend arriving at the airport no later than one hour before your flight is scheduled to depart. Cardiff and Dublin are both within the Common Travel Area, so you don't technically need a passport to travel between them. Some airlines have different regulations regarding identification, but usually accept driving licenses and other forms of official photographic ID. If in doubt, check your airline's website.
