What to expect in Newcastle

Newcastle has a similar climate to Cardiff, and the price of food and drink is roughly the same too. The city's nightlife is famous. If you're visiting at the weekend you'll probably bump into plenty of stag and hen parties, as well as general revellers. Newcastle city centre is small enough to navigate on foot, so pack your walking shoes. Attractions like Hadrian's Wall and the Metro Centre are quite far from the city. You can reach them via public transport or rental car. Just like Cardiff, Newcastle can be quite rainy. Bring an umbrella and some waterproofs, even if you're visiting during summer.
