Airlines that fly from Cardiff to London

No airlines are currently offering direct flights from Cardiff to London. Indirect flights are available through Flybe via Edinburgh (to London-City), Aer Lingus via Dublin (to Gatwick and Heathrow), and KLM via Amsterdam (to Heathrow).

Terminal Information – Departing

Cardiff Airport only has one terminal. Grab a bite before going through security at Caffi Cwtch, or wait until you're in the departure lounge. Here you can choose between Caffe Ritazza and The Echo Bar. If you like to shop before you fly you can visit high-street stores like Oakley, Fat Face and Superdry. There's a Nuance Tax and Duty Free Shop and a WH Smith too. The airport also has an executive lounge where you can relax with complimentary refreshments and fast Wi-Fi. Entry prices start at £17.50*.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Terminal advice is simply a guideline and is subject to change.

At London-City: London's most central airport only has one terminal. There's a taxi rank outside (expect to pay around £35 for a taxi into the city centre). Alternatively you can take buses 473 and 474. The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) also serves the airport, offering a connection onto the city's underground network.

At London-Gatwick: Aer Lingus flights land at Gatwick's South Terminal, where the airport's train station is located. The Gatwick Express is the fastest way to reach central London. Single tickets cost £19.90*.  National Express and easyBus coaches can be pre-booked. If you want to take a taxi, expect to spend about £90.*

At London-Heathrow: KLM flights land at Terminal 4 while Aer Lingus land at Terminal 2. Both terminals have train stations and access to the Piccadilly Line (tube). The tube takes about an hour and costs £5.70* while the express train takes 15 minutes and costs £21.50*. The Heathrow Connect train is another option: it's slower than the express train but tickets are just £8.50*. Both terminals are served by National Express and easyBus coaches, and both have taxi ranks.

Practical Information

If you're flying via Edinburgh or Dublin you won't need to bring your passport, as both cities are inside the Common Travel Area. Acceptable photographic ID varies based on airline, but usually government issued ID cards (driving licenses, bus passes, and student cards) are fine. If you're flying via Amsterdam you will need to bring a valid passport. Even if you're not stopping over in the city you will need to go through passport control, as you're entering the Schengen area.
