What to expect in Reykjavik
Reykjavik is one hour behind Birmingham. The currency in Iceland is the Icelandic krona. Iceland is one of the most starkly beautiful countries in the world (as these 8 incredible pictures show).
As the name suggests, Iceland is a chilly country. During the warmest month (July) temperatures rarely reach 15°C. During January, temperatures often drop to -3°C. From mid-May until the end of June, Iceland is the land of midnight sun. You'll get a bit of twilight between midnight and 3-4am, but if you need full-dark to sleep you'd better make sure your hotel has blackout curtains.
