Birmingham Airport
Passengers should arrive at Birmingham Airport at least three hours before before their scheduled flight departure time. It’s wise to leave yourself a little extra time if you’re parking your car at the airport. Once you’ve checked-in, it’s possible to speed up your progress through security by purchasing a priority pass, available for £3 per person. You can either book online in advance or buy your pass at one of the machines outside the security area.
Birmingham Airport’s departures lounge has all the facilities you’ll need to stock up on holiday essentials, grab a drink and relax before your flight. Shops include Boots, WHSmith, Dixons, Hugo Boss, Pandora, Victoria’s Secret and a duty free shop. John F. Kennedy Airportis located 18 miles to the south east of New York City. British Airways and Icelandair flights arrive to Terminal 7, Delta and KLM arrive to Terminal 4 and Aer Lingus flights arrive to Terminal 5.
There are a number of transport options going from all airport terminals into the city centre. The AirTrain JFK is a fast and eco-friendly option, making stops around the various airport terminals before heading into the city and connecting to major subway and bus routes. It runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There are also taxi services, car rental facilities and various bus and subway options.

Practical Information
Because the US has a Visa Waiver Programme (VWP) in place, visitors with a British passport don’t need to apply for a visa for tourist visits of up to 90 days. This should be done through the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) website.
