Terminal Information – Departing
Birmingham Airport has one terminal. Despite its diminutive size, there's plenty on offer to keep you entertained before you fly to Newcastle. There are plenty of shops to browse at the airport, including high street favourites Accessorize and JD Sports, as well as airport favourites like World Duty Free and Dixons Travel.

Terminal Information – Arriving
Newcastle Airport is about six miles away from the city. The one terminal is easy to navigate, with public transport available just outside. The Metro (underground) is the fastest way to reach the city centre from the airport. It takes 20 minutes to reach Monument station, and tickets cost £3.60*. Buses are also available, and you can expect to pay about £15* if you decide to take a taxi. Rental cars are available at the airport from Europcar, Hertz, Avis, Budget and Interrent. Practical Information
You don't need a passport for domestic flights within the UK. You will need to show some form of official photographic ID, however: your photo-card driving license is the best option. We recommend arriving no later than 90 minutes before your flight is due to depart, giving yourself plenty of time to get through security.
What to expect in Newcastle
The nightlife in Newcastle is famous throughout the UK. The riverfront is the destination of choice if you're looking for a few laid-back drinks, with some trendy bars both on the river and tucked away in side streets. For bigger pubs and clubs, head to "the Diamond Strip" near Central Station and Collingwood Street. The Gate has a number of bars and clubs under one roof, and also boasts a casino, so it's a great choice if the weather's not on your side. Expect lots of stag and hen do's on Friday and Saturday night.
