Terminal Information
Birmingham Airport
Birmingham Airport is around five miles southeast of Birmingham city centre. There’s just one terminal at the airport so it’s easy to find your way around. The airport advises passengers to arrive at check-in at least 90 minutes before their scheduled flight departure time. Advice from airlines may differ so it’s a good idea to double check with Flybe too.
Priority passes for security are available either online in advance or from self-service kiosks outside the security area. A pass costs £3.00 and allows you to join a faster, priority queue through security checks.
Passengers will find all the facilities they need in the large departures lounge. There’s a duty free shop, a currency exchange and a good selection of food, drink and shopping options. Shops include WHSmith, Boots and Pandora and food outlets include Burger King, a Wetherspoon’s pub and Frankie & Benny’s.
There are also two premium lounges if you’re looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing to spend the time before your flight. Premium lounges charge a fee but offer free Wi-Fi and complimentary food and drink.
Milan Malpensa Airport
Milan Malpensa Airport is located 49 kilometres northwest of Milan city centre. There are a number of terminals at the airport, with Flybe flights arriving to Terminal 1. The Terminal 1 arrivals hall is located on the ground floor. Here, there is a currency exchange, car hire desks, an information desk and a selection of food and drink outlets.
If you choose to hire a car from the airport, you’ll find Avis, Dollar, Gold Car, Maggiore, Europcar, Thrifty, Budget and Hertz all based inside the arrivals hall at Terminal 1. It should take around 40 minutes to drive from the airport into the city centre, but busy traffic usually makes the journey longer.
Alternatively, there are a number of public transport options providing links between the airport and the city. Passengers can take a train which travels direct from the airport to the city, and takes around 40 minutes. There are also coaches which depart every 20 minutes and take around an hour to travel to the city centre. A simple but expensive option is a taxi, which you can find in the rank based outside exit 6 of Terminal 1. A journey into the city centre costs around €90.00.
