Terminal Information – Departing
From Schönefeld: Check-in, security and the departure lounge are all located upstairs. Shops include Heinemann Duty Free, Relay magazine shop, Sunglasses by Pfendt Airport Optic, and Quicker's souvenirs. There are a few food options for peckish travellers including Burger King, Marche Bistro, and an Irish Pub serving up German beer and bar snacks.
From Tegel: All of Tegel's terminals are under the same roof. If you fancy a bit of shopping before your flight, do it before going through security. Most of the shops are in the public area of the airport. There are duty free shops after security if you want to buy bottles of alcohol or perfume, and Relay magazine shops if you need something to read while you're in the air. The majority of places to eat are also before security, but there are some sandwich shops and snack bars near the departure gates too.
Terminal Information – Arriving
At Gatwick: flights from Berlin land at the South Terminal. This is handy if you're planning to take the train, as the station is located in this part of the airport. The Gatwick Express offers the fastest (and most expensive) way to reach the city. The airport is also served by National Express and easyBus coaches: we recommend booking your tickets in advance.
At Heathrow: Germanwings land at Terminal 2 and British Airways land at Terminal 5. Both terminals are served by the Heathrow Express train and the Piccadilly Line on the underground. The underground is the cheapest way to reach the city centre, while the train is the fastest.
At Luton: Luton Airport only has one terminal. There's an express train from the nearby Luton Parkway Station. Bus tickets to the station cost £1.50* and the train costs £13.50*. Shuttle buses operated by GreenLine, National Express and easyBus also serve the airport.
At Stansted: Stansted only has one terminal. Transport options from the airport include the Stansted Express train and coaches, operated by National Express and easyBus.
Practical Information
You need a valid passport to fly from Berlin to London. We recommend arriving at the airport around 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart. If you're flying from Schönefeld give yourself extra time to get through security, as there can often be delays.
