Terminal Information – Departing
From Belfast-City: This small but perfectly formed airport has everything you need for a relaxing pre-flight experience. Enjoy a quick sandwich in O'Briens or treat yourself to a slap-up meal in Harvest Market. Get your caffeine fix as Espression or enjoy a chilled out drink at the Bushmills Bar. If you want to do a spot of shopping you can pick up souvenirs in WHSmith and House of Ireland. Pick up some last minute essentials in Boots, or browse luxury goods in World Duty Free. Or just find yourself a perch and enjoy the unlimited free Wi-Fi. There's also an Aspire Lounge, where you can relax and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks.
From Belfast-International: The airport only has one terminal. Free Wi-Fi is available for two hours. There's not much in the way of shops: a Superdrug, a WHSmith, a World Duty Free and a Traveller. There are seven places to eat and drink, ranging from coffee shops and bars to fast food restaurants and diners. If you want a bit of luxury before you fly you can book into the business lounge.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Glasgow Airport has one terminal for arrivals. Public transport and taxis are available just outside, and car rental desks are inside the terminal. If you're planning a self-drive trip remember to compare prices on car hire from Glasgow Airport. The First 500 Glasgow Shuttle offers an express service to the city centre. Tickets cost £6.50* each way or £9* for a return within 28 days. Taxi prices vary, but you can ask the driver for an estimate before you set off to avoid surprise.
Practical Information
You don't need a passport to fly from Belfast to Glasgow. Airline staff will want to see some photographic ID, such as a driving license. Give yourself plenty of time at the airport: we recommend arriving no later than 90 minutes before your flight is due to depart. You will need to arrive earlier if you have baggage to check in.
What to expect in Glasgow
Belfast is slightly cheaper than Glasgow: a three course meal for two will set you back about £15 more in Scotland's second city. The temperature is fairly similar, although Glasgow is generally wetter than Belfast. Scottish weather can be quite unpredictable, so we recommend packing your umbrella and your sunglasses if you're visiting during the summer.
