Terminal Information – Departing

Aberdeen Airport is small. Although it only has one terminal, the departure lounge offers everything you might need for a relaxing pre-flight experience. Go window shopping at World Duty Free, grab some light reading for the plane at WHSmith, or stock up on some last minute toiletries at Boots. If you're feeling peckish you can grab a coffee and sandwich at Costa, or enjoy a beer and burger in The Granite City by Wetherspoon. The Globe, The Kitchen, and Joe's Coffeehouse also serve up some great pre-flight food. If you want a bit of extra luxury before your flight, book into the Servisair lounge. You can enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks, and get a bit of work done using the free Wi-Fi. Lounge access starts at just over £17* if you book in advance.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Bristol Airport also has just one terminal, so it's easy to get around and find your way into town. Public transport is well signposted from the arrivals hall. The Flyer Express (A1) bus runs between the airport and the city centre. It costs £7* for a single ticket, and £11* for a one-month return. You can also find coaches to other destinations outside the arrivals hall: great if you're planning to hit the beach in Weston-super-Mare. There's also a taxi rank, if you prefer to avoid public transport. If you're planning a self-drive holiday you should compare car hire at Bristol Airport with Skyscanner first. Once you arrive you'll find the car rental reception just a short walk from the terminal.

Practical Information

You don't need a passport to fly between Aberdeen and Bristol, just an official form of photographic ID. You can bring your passport along if you wish, but driving licenses are fine too. We recommend arriving at least 90 minutes before your flight is due to depart. This will give you more time to get through security (essential during school holidays and rush hour) as well as giving you the opportunity to relax and have something to eat or drink. Nobody wants to fly on an empty stomach.

What to expect in Bristol

Scottish banknotes are notoriously difficult to spend in the south of England. To avoid frustration, we recommend withdrawing your holiday cash once you arrive at Bristol Airport. Bristol is slightly cheaper than Aberdeen, and the weather is slightly more pleasant. We are still talking about England, so even if you're visiting during the summer it's a good idea to pack for all eventualities.
