There are very few historic building in Friedrichshafen. Many of them were destroyed during WWII. The Schlosskirche (castle church) is a lovely baroque building, and is worth a look while you’re in the city.

Zeppelin sightseeing tours are a quirky addition to any holiday in Friedrichshafen, offering unrivalled views of the Alps and the lake. The views at ground level are nearly as impressive, however. Friedrichshafen has one of the longest promenades on Lake Constance, perfect for long lazy Sunday walks before wandering into one of the many cafes.

The nightlife in Friedrichshafen is fairly low key, with a nice selection of wine bars and trendy restaurants. Sample local wine, enjoy well mixed cocktails, or just enjoy a meal in one of the many traditional restaurants. Many of the hotels in Friedrichshafen have their own excellent restaurants and bars, so you may not have to go far at all for a superb night on the town.
