Planning a trip to Nice? Let Skyscanner find you the best hotels in Nice.
It won't be on your flights to Nice or the airport, but rather the glamorous French Riviera that is the place to be seen. Stroll along the elegant Promenade des Anglais that hugs the pebbly shore, past the gleaming yachts of the rich and famous and palm fringed café terraces. A maze of narrow cobbled alleys wind their way through the Old Town hiding a colourful hive of activity from the intoxicating African markets and the fruit and flower markets of the Cours Saleya. The nearby Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art houses an impressive collection, while its rooftop terrace affords the best views in Nice.
Hotels in Nice suit most budgets. There are affordable party hostels in the city centre, like the Villa Saint Exupery, and mid-range historic hotels like the Hotel Nice Riviera. If it’s unashamed luxury you’re after, the Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais should fit the bill. The Hotel Westminster is the oldest in Nice and is also located on the Promenade, with breath-taking views and four star service. Getting around the city is easy thanks to a good local bus service, scooter and bicycle hire.
Those with a taste for the finer things in life should visit the boutiques and designer shops on the Avenue Jean Médecin. The hill-top district of Cimiez brims with opulence and art and is home to both the exquisite Marc Chagall Museum and the Matisse Museum too. To the west of the city, white marble fountains glisten in the Mediterranean sun. Azure blue waters stretch out as far as the eye can see but for sandy beaches you’ll need to venture out to Villefranche-sur-Mer, Antibes or Cannes.
Thanks to its proximity to Africa, Nice has an exotic blend of cuisines to tantalise the palate. The port is where you’ll find the freshest seafood while fine dining establishments fill the city centre. Nice’s nightlife is of the high class variety, set to a backdrop of twinkling harbour lights, swaying palms and a heavenly sea breeze.
Did you know..?
The Nice Carnival is one of the most important and anticipated events in the local’s calendar. Started in 1873, floats and flowers mark this traditional event, with fireworks and lively music bringing it into the 21st century.
The Local language, Nicoise, is actually a mixture of French and Italian.
If you love flowers, visit the beautiful Parc Pheonix with its mix of landscaped gardens, tropical greenhouse and zoo all rolled into one. There are fountains and lakes and sculptures in this lovely secret location.
I loved Nice so much I visited twice! The perfect location to explore the South of France and the home of the Cannes Festival. It's especially great for sea views and lazy beach days.
Would really recommend you to spend a day in Nice. Walk up the stairs or take the elevator up to the view point which is located close to the old town (Vielle Ville). Stroll down the streets of the old town and stop by Place Massena. Walk down the famous Promenade des Anglais and watch the beautiful turquoise water. Take a swim, but be careful, the beaches in Nice are covered with stones. But on the upside, this is what gives the waters its intense color.
A splendid seaside city that proves luxury and affordability for whatever taste you desire. With beaches, restaurants, markets and museums, there truly is something for everyone.
Nice was very nice, as they say. A beach town in south of France with full of life, culture, beach and seafood.
