It’s a fairly small airport, with a couple of shops selling local produce including foie gras and wine. There’s a fine dining restaurant if you’re feeling fancy, and a snack bar if not. Wi-Fi access is also available throughout the terminal: great news for business travellers, or those who can’t wait to upload their holiday snaps to Facebook.

Getting into Pau
The Proxelis 20 bus route runs between the airport and the city centre. It arrives once an hour between the hours of 7:40am and 7:40pm. Tickets are only €1* (about 80p) and can be bought from the driver. The journey takes half an hour. The bus doesn’t run on Sundays or public holidays.
Taxis are usually available outside the airport terminal. If you’re arriving on a Sunday, a public holiday, or on a Saturday night it’s a wise idea to book your transfer in advance. Expect to pay around €30* (about £23.60) to get into Pau during the day, and around €35* (roughly £27.50) at night time. The night fare also applies on Sundays and public holidays. Bear in mind that these are guideline prices: fares do vary based on a number of factors including number of passengers, distance travelled, and which taxi firm you use.
If you’re staying outside of the city it’s a good idea to hire a car, as public transport in the south of France can be quite sporadic. Europcar, Enterprise and Avis all have cars available at Pau Airport.
