Terminal Information – Departing
Stansted Airport has one terminal. The departure lounge has a good range of bars, restaurants and shops. Enjoy a glass of bubbly at Blanc et Noir, some takeaway sushi from Itsu, or a bigger meal in Giraffe. If you feel like shopping you can browse the luxury goods in World Duty Free, stock up on beauty bargains at the Body Shop, and pick up some toys in Hamleys. There's a WHSmith for grabbing some last-minute beach reading and a Boots for that all-important sunscreen. If you want to treat yourself you can check into the Escape Lounge. Comfortable seats, unlimited Wi-Fi, and a range of complimentary snacks and drinks: it's a great way to kick-start your holiday.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Ryanair flights land at Terminal 2, which is where the airport's main public transport hub is located. The fastest way to reach the city is to take the suburban train. One-way tickets cost €4.10* (about £3). Keep a close eye on the station signs. The train doesn't terminate in Barcelona, but goes all the way out to the suburbs. The Aerobus Express bus is a slower (but safer) option. Single tickets cost €5.90* (about £4.30) while 15 day return tickets cost €10.20* (about £7.40). Another option is the local bus, number 46, which is only €2* (about £1.45) per ticket. There's a taxi rank outside the terminal too. Cabs are metered, but be prepared to spend around €30-40* (£21-30). Tariffs are higher at night and on the weekend. Car hire is available from Barcelona Airport and is a good option if you're heading out to explore the Costa Brava. Most major companies have a desk in the arrivals area.
