Newcastle Airport located 6 miles north west of Newcastle upon Tyne has just one terminal. Passengers on flights to Aberdeen should arrive at Newcastle Airport at least 1 hour before their flight is scheduled to depart. Eastern Airlines advises that check in desks close 30 minutes before the flight and no passengers will be accepted beyond this time. To speed up the time between check-in and arriving in the departure lounge Eastern Airways have a dedicated security lane at Newcastle Airport offering a fast track service.
In the departure lounge at Newcastle Airport there’s a great variety of facilities. Shops include Accessorize, JD Sports, Boots, Dixons, and WHSmith and places to eat feature Upper Crust, The Beer House, Caffe Ritazza, Bar 11 and Greggs. Car hire companies are located together in the car hire building which is connected to the airport by a covered walkway. Here you will find National, Avis, Enterprise and Europcar. The most direct bus service to Aberdeen is the Jet Service 727 which goes from Aberdeen Airport to Aberdeen Airport with a limited number of stops, providing a shorter journey time. Buses depart from 4.30am (5.30am on weekends) to 11.30pm (11pm on Sunday), every 10 minutes during peak hours and a single fare is £2.90.
