Airlines that fly from Glasgow to Gran Canaria

Jet2, Ryanair, Thomas Cook Airlines and Tui all offer direct flights from Glasgow International Airport (GLA) to Gran Canaria. Ryanair also offer flights from Glasgow Prestwick (PIK).

Terminal Information – Departing

From Glasgow International: Flights to Gran Canaria usually depart from terminal 2. The airport has a good selection of duty free shops, and as Gran Canaria is outwith the EU you can really make the most of them. The UpperDeck VIP lounge is available for passengers who want to add a bit of luxury to their trip. The entry price includes free Wi-Fi, complimentary soft drinks and four free alcoholic beverages. There's a soft play area near WH Smith, so your kids can run off a bit of energy before the flight. There are designated smoking areas outside the terminal: e-cigarettes are banned inside.

From Glasgow Prestwick: Prestwick Airport only has one terminal. The facilities are a little more basic. There are two shops: Nuance Duty Free and WH Smith. The Elvis Presley Bar and The Food Village are the only food options after security.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport is served by eight public buses. These routes run to the island's major towns and resorts including Maspalomas, Puerto de Mogan and Las Palmas. We recommend checking the bus timetables before flying so you know exactly where you're going once you arrive. Public transport in the islands can be quite infrequent, so if you want to do a lot of exploring we recommend hiring a car at Gran Canaria Airport. This is also the best option if you're staying off the beaten path. Some companies offer private transfers on the island, or this can be organised by your hotel.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly from Glasgow to Gran Canaria. We recommend arriving at the airport around two hours before flight departure, and certainly no later than 90 minutes. Give yourself extra time to get through security during school holidays.
