Cardiff Airport

At Cardiff Airport Flybe offers standard, self-service, online and mobile check in. If you check in online it is recommended that you arrive at the airport at least one hour before your flight to Belfast is scheduled to depart. If you are checking in at the airport with hold luggage check in desks open 2 hours before and close 30 minutes before your flight. Check in for passengers with hand luggage only closes 20 minutes before the flight.

Cardiff Airport has one terminal and the departures lounge has a small selection of essential shops and places to eat. These are WH Smith, Nuance Tax and Duty Free, Echo Bar and Caffe Ritazza. A collection service is available for those purchasing goods in Nuance Tax and Duty Free so you can leave your shopping at the airport and collect it when you return. Other facilities in the departures lounge include a children’s play area and Forexchange currency exchange.

30 minutes of free Wi-Fi is available per day, with further access available at £3 per hour.

Belfast City Airport

Belfast City Airport is one of two Belfast Airports and the closest to the city, just 4 miles north east. Onward travel options include bus, car hire and taxis. A taxi from the airport to Belfast city centre will cost around £10.

A dedicated airport bus service is available for connections into the city centre. The Airport Express 600 bus runs every 20 minutes (every 40 minutes on Sunday) from Belfast City Airport to the Belfast Europa Bus Centre. A journey takes around 20 minutes with stops at the Titanic Belfast Museum, SSE Arena, Oxford Street and Donegall Square South. A single ticket is £2.50 and can be purchased in the Arrivals Hall at the Tourist Information Desk or from the driver on the bus.

Car hire from Belfast City Airport is ideal for those travelling further afield, the car hire desks are located in the Arrivals Hall after the baggage reclaim area.

Practical Information

A passport is not required when flying on domestic flights within the UK. You will still need to show a form of photo ID, acceptable forms include a driving licence and Citizen Card. It is important to confirm that your ID is accepted by Flybe before you travel.
