Eurowings and Flybe both offer direct flights from Birmingham to Dusseldorf International Airport. There are currently no direct flights from Birmingham to Dusseldorf-Weeze.

Terminal Information – Departing

Birmingham Airport has one terminal with a well-equipped departure lounge. If you enjoy airport shopping you can enjoy a tax-free discount in designer stores like Hugo Boss and Victoria's Secret, high street brands like Next and Accessorize, or luxury shops such as World Duty Free and Eye Love. Pick up some in-flight reading at WHSmith and some last minute essentials at Boots. The departure lounge also offers a wide range of places to grab a bite to eat, whether you're in the mood for a kebab (Deli Hub) a burger (Burger King, Frankie & Benny's) or some pub grub (Wetherspoons, All Bar One). You can even enjoy a quick coffee and cake at Caffe Nero or Costa. If you want to treat yourself before you travel you can enjoy a glass of champagne at Blanc et Noir, a pre-trip manicure at Cloud Nails, or check into one of the two executive lounges. Terminal Information – Arriving

It takes just over ten minutes to reach the main train station from the airport's S-bahn station. Take lines S7 or S11 to reach the city centre. Train tickets cost €2.50* (about £1.80). Alternatively you can take the bus. The stops are located outside the main arrival hall. Bus 721 connects the airport to the main railway station, and bus 896 offers a shuttle service to the Dusseldorf-Messe (exhibition centre). Bus 760 goes to Dusseldorf- Wittlaer-Bockum, and bus SB51 goes to Dusseldorf-Nordfriedhof. There's a taxi rank outside every terminal. What to expect in Dusseldorf

Dusseldorf is one hour ahead of Birmingham and the currency is the Euro (€). The cost of living in Dusseldorf is lower than in Birmingham. Expect to pay less than £30* for an average three course dinner for two and about £2.50 for a pint of the local beer. Speaking of beer, Dusseldorf has a big rivalry with neighbouring Cologne. Don't order a kolsch beer in Dusseldorf, stick to the local Altbier. Although most people in Dusseldorf can speak a bit of English, it's a good idea to learn a few key words and phrases in German before you travel.
