Belfast International Airport
Belfast International Airport advises passengers to check-in two hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight to London Gatwick. The airport sells a priority security pass that is available for all passengers. A pass can be bought from a kiosk outside the security area or in advance, online. It enables you to bypass the longer queues at security and get through to the departures lounge more quickly. You can also save time at the airport by checking in advance, online or via the EasyJet mobile app which stores your boarding pass for easy access.
There are a number of facilities in the departures lounge at Belfast International Airport. Free Wi-Fi is available for up to two hours. Food and drink options include Burger King, a pub and Starbucks, whilst for shopping, there is a WHSmith, a Superdrug and a duty free store.
Passengers also have the option of upgrading to the Business Lounge, which is open to all passengers regardless of class of travel. For an entrance fee, you’ll have access to complimentary drinks, snacks and Wi-Fi.
Belfast City Airport
Belfast City Airport advises passengers travelling within the UK to check-in at least 90 minutes before their scheduled flight departure time.
In the departures hall, there’s a good selection of food, drink and shopping options. Boots, WHSmith and a duty free store provide retail therapy while getting a bite to eat is easy at the Bushmills pub, Costa Coffee or Harvest Market pizza bar. Passengers can also access free Wi-Fi throughout the airport.
If you’re looking for a quieter place to spend the time before your flight, Belfast City Airport provides a premium lounge. Passengers can pay to access the Aspire Lounge where they are treated to complimentary refreshments and newspapers.
Gatwick Airport
Gatwick Airport is located 28 miles from central London. The airport is divided into North and South Terminals. EasyJet flights arrive to the North Terminal and Aer Lingus flights arrive to the South Terminal.
Facilities in both terminals are very similar. Passengers will find a convenience store, a coffee shop and cash machines in the arrivals hall. There are also National Express desks where you can book coach tickets for a number of central London and UK destinations.
The fastest option for getting into the city centre is the Gatwick Express train, which takes just 30 minutes. Trains run from the airport to London Victoria, departing every 15 minutes. Other slower but less expensive trains also depart from the airport, heading for London Victoria, St Pancras or London Bridge.
Car hire desks at Gatwick Airport are located in the direction of the long term car park, out of the terminal buildings.
Practical Information
There’s no need to carry your passport if you’re a British national travelling within the UK.
