Airlines that fly from Moscow to St Petersburg
There are flights to St Petersburg from all three of Moscow's passenger airports. Aeroflot and S7 Airlines fly from Domodedovo Airport; Aeroflot and Pegasfly fly from Sheremetyevo Airport; Aeroflot and UTair Aviation fly from Vnukovo Airport.
Terminal Information – Departing
This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.
From Domodedovo: Aeroflot and S7 Airlines both fly from Terminal B. The airport has a shopping mall called the Trade Centre, which has a great range of shops as well as a spa and restaurants. There are further places to eat and shop once you reach the departure lounge.
From Sheremetyevo: Aeroflot and Pegasfly both depart from Terminal D. Shops at the airport mainly focus on duty free, jewellery, and magazines. There is no business lounge in Terminal D, however free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport.
From Vnukovo: Aeroflot and UTair Aviation both leave from Terminal A, the domestic terminal. The check-in area is on the second floor of the terminal, while the departure lounge is on the third. There are cafes, a VIP lounge and a business lounge.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Pulkovo Airport is just over 12 miles away from the city. Three buses serve the airport: 39, 39A and #K39. All run to the Moskovskaya metro station, where you can hop onto the Blue Line train. Fares are RUB 28* (about 25p) for services 39 and 39A and RUB 36* (about 30p) for #K39. Taxis are available from the airport, and you can expect to pay about RUB 900-1,000* (about £7.85-8.70) for a trip into downtown St Petersburg. The journey should take half an hour in light traffic, but longer if you land at rush hour. Car hire is available from the airport, and you can compare rental prices with Skyscanner to find the best offers for your trip.
Practical Information
Although this is a domestic flight you will be asked to show your passport before boarding. There's no passport control per se: it's simply for security purposes. We recommend arriving at the airport around 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart. Check-in desks close 40 minutes before departure, and staff are not authorised to re-open them.
