Murcia town is a truly congenial, unspoilt, deeply Spanish little city, hemmed in by mountains, where sitting in a flower-filled square enjoying some tapas with a drink is one of life’s greatest pleasures. One of the earliest Universities in the world was founded here and the city provides an exciting mix of the contemporary and traditional: tree-lined avenues, modern parks and quaint cafés blend with an Old Quarter that harks back to the city’s Moorish roots & includes the breath-taking 14th Century Cathedrál de Santa Maria.
