Just when I thought The Hague couldn't get any better, I discovered Scheveningen. Arguably the best known seaside resort in the Netherlands, it's a great place to visit anytime of year. Bundle up to walk in winter, but come ready to get a tan or even wet in the summer.
I whas born here and the first 18 years of my live this whas the place to be, the wonderful beaches and harbour where you can eat fresh fish. And ofcourse the Kurhaus and the Pier but also the Bulevare with his shops, restaurants an bars.
Beautiful beach!! Everyone shoul eat french fries with mayo watching the sunset at 22:00 p.m. and, after that, go dancing at Crazy Piano's!!!
Scheveningen is the Coastal suburb of Den Haag and easily reachable via light rail from Centraal Station. I've stayed here one time in March and it was predictably cold and a bit dreary. You can walk along the beach and have coffee at the splendid Kurhaus Hotel. I was in more economical digs, but did find a good Indonesian restaurant of which Holland has many.
