Volos is a lovely city on the water, full of seaside shops, cafes and charm. Although there isn't too much in the immediate area, this is a quaint, quiet place to relax by the water.

Although Volos is a fairly large city, it retains its quaint charm if you know where to look. The sea is beautiful, with cute cafes and restaurants overlooking the water.

The perfect destination for summer and winter! Maybe some of the best beaches in Greece are: Ai Giannis (nice destination, search for the small -more private- beach next to the village), Agioi Saranta (Mamba beach bar: cool cocktails right next to the sea), Melani (nudist beach), Ksinovrisi (huge rock separates the beach into two parts) and the list continuous! In the winter, maybe it is not THE best ski centre but it takes only 1/2 hour to be skiing!! And the traditional villages on the go (Portaria, Makrunitsa) are worth-visiting as well as Milies and Tsagkarada. Although the beauty of Pelion, Volos still is the place to taste tsipouro! Carefull! Avoid the dig restaurants next to the sea. The rule is: the smaller the "tsipouradiko" the better the tsipouro!
