Where to hire a car at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport
There are seven car rental firms at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. They are Hertz, Dollar, Alamo, Avis, Budget, National, and Enterprise. The rental car centre is outside the terminal building.
Petrol stations near Manchester-Boston Regional Airport
Depending on your car rental agreement, you may need to hand your car back with a full tank.
There are lots of petrol stations within a short drive of the airport. The closest is Alltown Manchester just north of the airport, before the junction with Airport Road. There’s also an Irving on Roundstone Drive just south of the airport.
Driving around Manchester-Boston Regional Airport
The airport is well connected to a number of major roads. Interstate 293 passes near the airport, with a junction onto Route 93 (Arizona to Montana). You can by-pass the city of Manchester on the 293 or use smaller suburban roads to drive straight into the centre.

If you can’t find flights to Boston, fly into Manchester Airport instead. Downtown Boston is just over an hour’s drive from the airport. Like all large cities it can be hard to find parking in Boston. On-street spaces are metered between 8am-8pm, Monday to Friday, and cost $1.25 (about 80p) per hour. Most spaces have a maximum stay limit of two hours. There are also plenty of car parks in Boston. If you’re staying overnight, look out for hotels in Boston with car parking.
Once a blue collar textile town, today Manchester is now one of the most cultured destinations in New Hampshire. Fantastic museums, an abundance of classical concerts, and a burgeoning arts scene confirm this.
It only takes 15 minutes to drive into downtown Manchester from the airport. Parking meters are enforced from Monday to Friday, 8am ‘til 8pm, and there’s a maximum stay of either two or ten hours. After five there are no time limits, as long as you pay. Usually it costs 75c (about 50p) per hour. You can also leave your car in the Victory Parking Garage for $6 (about £3.90) per day.
Concord (New Hampshire)
The capital of New Hampshire makes a great base for exploring the state, enjoying fantastic hiking trails and playing a few holes of golf.
It takes about 25 minutes to drive to Concord from Manchester Airport. Parking meters are in operation between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday, both on street and in the three government operated car parks: Firehouse Parking Garage, Durgin Block Parking Garage, and Capital Commons Parking Garage. It costs 50c (about 33p) per hour to park in a multi-storey, and 75c (about 49p) per hour to park on-street. After 5pm parking is free.
