Driving around Broome Airport
Broome Airport is situated on a peninsula. Frederick Street travels east from the airport into the small town centre of Broome. Westbound, it connects to Cable Beach Road East and Gublinge Road which then eventually joins to Broome Road and route 1. Route 1 is one of the major routes through Western Australia. It heads inland towards Fitzroy Crossing and Mueller Ranges and south along the coast to Karratha, Carnarvon and Perth.

Gantheaume Point is made up of a white sandy beach and a red rock cliff face. Both offer incredible views of the ocean and provide a popular look out point. There is also centre which tells visitors more about the history of the area and real dinosaur footprints preserved in rock at the bottom of the cliff.
Gantheaume Point is around 15 minutes’ drive from Broome Airport. Drivers should head towards Cable Beach before turning onto Gantheaume Point Road. It’s a popular destination with lots of parking available for visitors.
