Airlines that fly from San Diego to Las Vegas
Southwest Airlines and Spirit Airlines both fly direct from San Diego to Las Vegas. This route is in the top ten of the airport's busiest, so we recommend booking your flights as early as possible.
Terminal Information – Departing
Southwest Airlines flights depart from Terminal 1 and Spirit Airlines depart from Terminal 2. There are lots of great places to eat and drink in both terminals, from trendy bars serving up craft beer to fantastic coffee shops. Foodie options include barbecue joints and Thai eateries. Terminal 1 has a couple of shops selling magazines and travel accessories, while Terminal 2 has a wider variety. You can pick up some San Diego inspired souvenirs or something to read from the massive book shop. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport, perfect for a bit of last minute Las Vegas research. The airport has an arts program which includes live performances of dance, music and theatre. One to look out for.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Spirit and Southwest both land at Terminal 1. Getting from the airport to the strip or downtown is easy. You can take a public bus (tickets cost $2*/just under £1.50) or an express bus ($7.50*/just under £5.50). There's also a taxi rank outside the airport. Cabs are metered, but you can expect to pay anywhere from $18* to $35* (roughly £13-26) to go to the strip and a little more if you're going to downtown. Lots of hotels in Las Vegas offer airport pickup, either for free or for a small surcharge. We recommend contacting your accommodation to find out if they do. Although this is a domestic route, you will still need to show photographic identification before boarding the flight. American citizens can use their driving license, while foreigners (including Brits) will need to show a valid passport. We recommend arriving at the airport around 90 minutes before your flight to Las Vegas is scheduled to depart.
