Why a holiday in Chennai makes sense
A holiday here brings the opportunity to discover some of the most beautiful spots in India. And Chennai is exactly that. The bustling city brings all the culture, cuisine and crowds you’d expect, but its beaches offer tranquillity and fun by the sea too.
Your first stop is Marina Beach – one of the longest urban beaches anywhere in the world and the most famous beach in Chennai. The locals of Chennai gather here with tourists for games of cricket on the sand and to wash away the stresses of the day. If you’re after more temples outside the city, head to Mahabalipuram Beach. You’ll find the fun of the amusement park for the whole family along the ECR at VGP Golden Beach and bring some peace to your soul at the tranquil hidden gem of Neelankarai Beach.
Come from November to February to avoid Chennai’s infamous heat and humidity and enjoy temperatures in the low to mid-20s. And when you’re here don’t miss Chennai’s mouth-watering street food. Nei Podi Dosa, Vada Pav, and Atho are must-eats.
