Hotels in Bradford

Although often overshadowed by neighbouring Leeds, there’s plenty going on in Bradford. The city is vibrant and multi-cultural, boasting plenty of theatres and museums as well as nightclubs and some of the best Indian restaurants in the UK. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, you can find great hotels in Bradford with Skyscanner.

The first thing you’ll notice about Bradford is that it’s no longer home to an “ugliness that could not only be tolerated but often enjoyed,” as local novelist JB Priestly once said. The city centre has undergone a bout of regeneration, with the addition of a massive high tech water feature in front of City Hall.

Most of the nightlife in Bradford can be found on the West End. There are loads of theatres, cinemas, and restaurants in the area as well as trendy bars and real ale pubs. There are also some good curry houses, although that’s not saying much: Bradford is known for its Asian cuisine and award winning restaurants can also be found on Leeds Road, Lumbs Lane, Greengates, and Great Horton (to name but a few).

As well as being Britain’s capital of curry, Bradford is also the world’s first UNESCO City of Film. The city is home to the impressive National Media Museum, and has a long heritage of film and television production. It also plays host to two annual film festivals: the Bradford International Film Festival in April and the Bradford Animation Festival in November. Hotel prices rise while the festivals are on, so if you’re not planning on attending any events it might be worth rescheduling your trip (if you can).

Hotels in Bradford also make a great base for getting out and discovering the Yorkshire countryside. Unleash your inner Heathcliff on the wild windswept moors that inspired the Brontë Sisters, or learn all about the industrial revolution as Saltaire, a preserved Victorian village. There are some fantastic walking trails just outside the city limits, although you might have to hire a car to get to the more remote ones.
