This modern coastal city with an impressive historic district is a melting pot of Islamic cultures. The seaside setting gives it a relaxed ambiance. A great entry point for an exploration of the country.

Port city and really quite beautiful. I had a tour of the old city led by the Minister of Antiquities himself. Boy was he mad when we were made witness to a shop owner dumping cardboard and other trash in the middle of the street. If you can get there - and there was a cruise ship passing through while I was there - then take advantage of the opportunity. Even if it is just to say you have been.
