If you like cathedrals and churches, Magdeburg can be a nice place to visit, but other than that there is nothing really outstanding. The main shopping centre, the Elbaunpark and the zoo are places I'd reecommend as well, if you're here.

It's not a great city but it has some places to visit! Magdeburg Cathedral is amazing. p.s. in Magdeburg, people often don't like foreigners! they rarely speak english and you should know this fact before visiting this city.

Nice small city on the Elbe River. Basically rebuilt after the war so everything is very new. The cathedral is an excellent example of gothic architecture.
