Angers – Loire Airport (ANE), also known as Angers – Marcé Airport, serves the city of Angers and the surrounding region. The airport itself is small but has everything you might need, including a restaurant, a meeting room, and free Wi-Fi.

 

Airlines that fly to Angers

BA CityFlyer flies direct to Angers on a seasonal basis from London-City airport. SkyTaxi (IGavion) also operate seasonal flights from the French cities of Nice and Toulouse.

 

Getting into Angers

Public transport isn’t available from the airport into Angers. The cheapest way to get from the airport to town is to take a taxi into Seiches-sur-le-Loir, and then take the line 2 bus into Angers. The bus comes once every three hours, takes 33 minutes, and costs €4 (about £2.90)* for a one way ticket. The taxi into town should only take a few minutes and will cost around €10 (about £7.20).*

It’s also possible to take a taxi straight from the airport into Angers. This will cost between €40-50 (about £29-35) and will take 20 minutes. Always get an estimate from the driver before you set off on your journey.

You can also hire a car at the airport from Europcar, National and Avis. This is the best option if you’re planning on doing a lot of sightseeing in the countryside near Angers.

When to fly to Angers

Angers is a true year round destination, thanks to its fab café culture and historic sites. Like all European cities, the weather is bound to be at its best from May to September. Film buffs would do well to visit Angers in January during the Festival Premier Plans, a film festival dedicated to showing off the first works of up and coming European directors.
