Ready to see what happened? Hold on. Hold on. Let’s here from Wanderlust Chloe before we delve into the photos:
Before I flew to Hawaii I had a few preconceptions. I was imagining honeymoooners drinking cocktails on the beach and somewhere with a very American vibe. What I found was so different! It was more raw and rugged, there was a lot of Hawaiian culture and the food scene was a great mix of American and Asian. I spent half my time enjoying the incredible surf beaches, viewpoints and cosmopolitan life on Oahu before heading off to The Big Island to hike volcanoes, stargaze and swim in waterfalls. It really was a trip of contrasts!
You ready? Let’s go:
Day One
The unique profile of the Diamond Head makes it top-notch Instagram material – I mean just look at those views! Not only is it one of Hawaii’s most recognised landmarks, but it also covers a huge 475 acres of land. How did it get there? Well it’s all thanks to the particles from a huge eruption 300,000 years ago cementing together and forming a giant crater.

Day Two
Oh hey, Honolulu. You’re looking mighty fine. Capital city of Hawaii, Honolulu has pretty much everything you could want from historic landmarks to some of the best shopping around all whilst being surrounded by cultural cultural charm.

Day Three
Sometimes the best views are worth the climb and Pololū Valley is no different. Head to North Kohala past the black lava waves of Kohala Coast and you’ll be treated to this sight and mind-blowing panoramic views of the island.

Day Four
You can’t go to Hawaii and not stop by Waikiki beach! Situated on the south shore of Honolulu, this stretch of golden sand was once the must go destination by Hawaiian royalty. These days it’s full of sun worshippers and surfers, but you’re all princes and princesses to me.

Day Five
Hawaii isn’t short of the ol’ waterfall or two, but Kulaniapia Falls are pretty spectacular and if you’re after a spot to relax in peace, then you’ll often find you have this place all to yourself.

Day Six
Sunsets. You can’t beat them, can you? This is Anaeho’omalu Beach and not only is it home to some of the best sand around, it’s also surrounded by coconut palms, a variety of tide pools and fishponds.

Day Seven
Big Island. The name says it all, but it’s also the youngest of the islands. Full of black sand beaches, a chunk of snorkelling spots and rolling greenery for an exceptional horse-back trot, Hawaii has an insane amount to offer.

Forget the movies with resorts, beaches and honeymoons! From amazing lava fields, active volcanoes and waterfalls, to wonderful friendly people and culture, there’s so much more to this beautiful place.
