Visit this beautiful city for peaceful walks around Lake Nicaragua, Spanish colonial architecture with bright colored buildings and beautiful churches everywhere you look. A great way to get feel for Nicaragua and the wonderful people.

Gorgeous Granada! This small colonial city sits on the northwest shore of Lake Nicaragua. It's home to narrow streets, colorful buildings, beloved churches, and a lively market. Boutique hotels, upscale restaurants, and easy access to nearby lakes and volcanoes make it a popular stop for tourists. Granada is a slow-moving city--and that's a good thing. As you walk down the streets, be sure to peek into the colonial courtyards. They are where you'll find the city's real gems.

A beautiful colonial town that should be a must see on any Nicaragua itinerary. Colorful building facades, great food, and a popular place to volunteer and/or study Spanish.
